The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, The Chairperson NACTE welcomed the members for sparing time to attend the meeting. Chairperson then asked Secretary NACTE to present agenda items for deliberations. The council members appreciated the hard work done by the council secretariat.

Highlights of the meeting:
  • The council appreciated the hardwork and continuous efforts of the council secretariate for accreditation of teacher education programmes.
  • Council approved zero accreditation to thirty (30) teacher education programmes in different institutes.
  • Council also approved formal accreditation levels of sixty-one (61) teacher education programmes.
  • The Council appreciated the process of revision of the accreditation standards and digitization of processes and allowed to continue the processes of revision and digitization.
  • Need and importance of teacher registration and licensing was discussed in detail. It was agreed that teacher licensing is imperative to improve the quality of student learning and raise the standard of education. The council allowed to start a consultative process with provinces and international agencies to develop a mechanism for teacher licensing.
